Conference venue - Dún Laoghaire, Dublin
The 28th International Railway Safety Council will take place in the Royal Marine Hotel, Dún Laoghaire, Dublin. Located just 12km outside Dublin City Centre, it only takes 20 minutes to get to the seaside town on the DART (rail access).
The town has plenty of other amazing attractions including the historic harbour, the National Maritime Museum of Ireland, located in a converted church, the new Library, that features unparalleled views of Dublin Bay, and the renowned People’s Park, a gorgeous park which are home to victorian style tea-rooms.
Airport transfers are not provided by the conference however a direct Aircoach service from Dublin Airport to the Royal Marine Hotel is available. The coach service from Dublin Airport stops directly outside of the hotel and costs €8 one way. Transfer time is approximately 40 minutes. Welcome Reception - National Yacht Club
The National Yacht Club of Dun Laoghaire, founded in 1870 will host the IRSC 2018 welcome reception on the 21st October. The National Yacht club is less than a 10 minute walk from the Royal Marine Hotel.
Gala Dinner Christ Church Cathedral
The Gala Dinner will be hosted on the 22nd October in Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin. The cathedral is located 30 minutes from the conference venue in the city centre. Delegates will be transferred to and from the venue.
Farewell gathering - The Merry Ploughboy
The only pub in Ireland owned and managed by Traditional Irish Musicians. Playing together since 1989, the Merry Ploughboys are one of the longest performing live bands in Ireland. Delegates will be transferred to and from the venue.
